One thing have I desired of the Lord... that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life...Psalm 27:4

Prepare the Way of the Lord

Today's worship service looks at an announcement by John the Baptist. "Prepare the way of the Lord," he says. As we anticipate the upcoming celebration of the birth of Jesus, how do we hear and make a place for John's message when the commercial aspects of Christmas compete so fervently for our attention?

Worship for September 5, 2021: "Be opened" and other Frustrating Commands from God

I wish that when it came to our stuck places, we could just say to ourselves: open up, rise, live. But it’s just not that easy. And God seems to know this. God seems to understand that very often it’s an outside force that pries us open to new life.

This week, there is no worship guide available. This feature will return next week.

Worship for August 29, 2021: Youth Worship Celebration ft. Bethel Youth

This is also where we sometimes get stuck: discipleship in the Bible doesn’t look like Jesus’ friends in the classroom achieving and achieving and learning and learning until they are filled up with good grades and ready to graduate. It doesn’t look like a proficiency exam. In the Bible, it actually looks like the opposite: discipleship looks like people unlearning everything and falling apart.
